Dr. Karen Wolfowitz
Dr. Karen Wolfowitz is the owner of Clifton Hill Dermatology where she has been consulting on a full-time basis since 2010. She has an excellent academic and clinical record, with wide hospital and private practice experience.
Dr. Wolfowitz has a special interest and extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. She has extensive experience in mole mapping and surveillance. She also has an interest in surgical dermatology, particularly for the management of skin cancers.
Dr. Wolfowitz has broad experience treating general dermatological conditions including acne, allergies, hair and nail disorders, keloids, rashes (including eczema and psoriasis), skin infections and hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and is accredited in the administration of nerve blocking injections for axillary hyperhidrosis. She also has an interest in cosmetic dermatology and oversees a wide range of complimentary laser and injectable treatment options at the clinic.
Dr. Wolfowitz is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, a Fellow of the College of Dermatologists of South Africa, an international Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and holds full registration on the Specialist Register of The General Medical Council in the UK.
Dr. Alfonso Perez de Velasco
Dr. Alfonso Perez is a highly skilled dermatologist who trained at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospitals in London where he later became a consultant.He gained valuable experience in complex dermatological conditions and his areas of interest include immunobullous (blistering) conditions, cutaneous lymphomas, male dermatology conditions and complex psoriasis/eczema cases. After finishing his training he spent time at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU Langone Health in New York.
Dr Perez has a special interest in alopecias and scalp disorders having completed a one year fellowship under Professor Rodney Sinclair as well as working at the Hair Clinic at The Skin Health Institute in Melbourne He has pursued further training in advanced trischoscopy and hair disorders at Ramón y Cajal unit in Madrid under the guidance of Dr Sergio Vario and colleagues where he learnt new techniques for treatment of androgenetic alopecia such as mesotherapy with Dutasteride.
Dr. Perez is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and is a member of the International Trichoscopy Society
General Practitioner
Dr. Lucy Rowlands
Dr. Lucy completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2013 and became a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019.
Dr. Lucy has completed post graduate qualifications in skin cancer medicine, skin cancer surgery and dermoscopy. She is passionate about skin cancer prevention, detection and treatment as well as assessing and managing general dermatology concerns. Dr Lucy has a part time appointment with the Alfred Hospital dermatology team.
Outside of work Dr. Lucy enjoys spending time with her young family.
Dr. Lucy is available every Tuesday for skin checks.

Tegan Birkin
Tegan is an experienced registered nurse and cosmetic injector. She was previously the head nurse and lead injector for a highly regarded cosmetic practice in Queensland. With more than 10 years of experience in aesthetic procedures, Tegan has an extremely solid foundation in cosmetic injecting. She is highly professional and truly cares for the needs of her clients.

Phoenix Lau
Phoenix is a highly experienced therapist who has been at the clinic for over 15 years. She has a thorough knowledge and wide range of expertise on all our machines including non-fractionated laser, radio frequency needling, LED therapy, and intensive pulse light (IPL) for rejuvenation and hair reduction. Phoenix has a great understanding of the importance of skin care and performs skin typing and analysis to ensure the right treatment plan is tailored for her clients.
